Custom 3D Rendering Services Are They Effective For Beginners Only?

By Isabella Gruber

Custom 3d rendering services are a great way to utilize existing talent to get 3d modeling and high quality rendering done efficiently. 3D is not new and the demand for these services grows as more people demand more web experiences that are rich and full of graphics. They are used in many industries and across many fields where there is a need to represent an action. 3d rendering is done by experienced 3d modelers that have studied the theory and the software applications that make all of this possible. It is not as simple as it sounds because there are many types of software and plugins that are used, depending on the industry, output, and what the 3d model will be used for.

There are several approaches that custom 3d rendering services use when rendering a character or creating 2D renders. One way is to include as many details as possible so that the 3d model looks sharp and like a real object. Another way is to create enough detail to get the basic shape of the object. The first approach gets a high definition 3d model while the second approach gets a low poly one.

However, animations, media applications or anywhere a user does not have direct interaction, more detail oriented and non-real time rendering is used. It is important to consider that rendering complex models, such as city scenes can take several days. In most cases, different software is used if fewer visual effects and details are required.

As you can see, to effectively set up the 3d rendering to run an effective and fast rendering process, you need to be familiar with what each feature does and what the outcome will be. Also, professional software programs are constantly innovating with new approaches on how to get higher details and making object look more real. If you are not one to keep up with the latest in 3d modeling and rendering or simply do not have time to spend doing it, then perhaps it is best to use a reliable 3d rendering service.

3D artists who want to specialize in rendering should spend the time learning these skills. Keep in mind that if you are not going to be 3d modeling and rendering professional, then it is best to invest your time doing something else, because you can get discouraged if you do not love rendering and learning new software. On the other hand, if you are going to specialize on this only and have a passion for rendering, then go ahead and take a learning course and until you are able to deliver high quality results fast.

Another alternative is to speed up the process by buying stock 3d models that have most if not all the features that you need. Then, these ready made can be manipulated by 3d rendering services to your needs. This cuts down costs and saves time because they are not building an entire 3d model so they can just focus on rendering it, thus it will be faster.

Depending on how you like teaching yourself new things, you have many options when it comes to become a professional rendering artist. You can take distance e-learning courses or enroll in a degree in computer animation to create the 3D objects.

So, should you use a custom 3d rendering service? That's up to you. Do not forget to take into account the faster delivery times and and opportunity costs of just getting it done using expert 3d modelers and rendering artists that specialize on this versus doing it yourself. - 30828

Just How Hard To Learn Is Adobe Illustrator?

By Evan Harris

New users to Adobe Illustrator often complain that they find the program "fiddly" and frustrating. When we run Adobe training courses, we recognise that part of our job is rid people of this perception of Illustrator as a difficult program to use. We have identified three main elements to making people aware that Illustrator is no more difficult or frustrating than any other program.

To start with, we show them how to read and understand the extensive visual clues provided by the software as you perform various operations. Next, we keep reminding new users how easy it is to revert your drawing back to the way it was before things started going wrong. And, finally, we keep telling our students that they have to highlight the right tool to be able to perform a give operation.

If you a new user to a sophisticated program like Illustrator, you cannot be expected to avoid making errors: things may go a little awry or even get completely screwed up. The key thing here is to learn the power of the Undo command. For example, if you accidentally resize an object don't try to manually change it back to the original size, simply go to the Edit menu and choose Undo or use the keyboard shortcut (Control-Z or Command-Z on Apple Mac). If you Undo too many times, you can always use Edit - Redo to move forward again. (The shortcut for the Redo command is Control-Shift-Z.)

The key factor in avoiding these types of errors is to keep looking at the various signals that the program provides, in particular those signals relating to the cursor appearance. For example, if you are attempting to resize a rectangle, you can only do this when your cursor changes to a slanted line with an arrow at each end (This indicates that your cursor is now in the correct position).

Another thing that new users do is attempt to modify elements in their drawing without clicking on the Selection tool first. One example might be they draw a shape using, say, the Polygon tool and then, with the Polygon tool still active, they attempt to move or resize the polygon they have just drawn or click on the page to deselect the polygon. They then get annoyed and puzzled when tiny polygons keep appearing in their drawing or Illustrator's shape dimension window keeps on popping up.

The best way of avoiding these types of mistakes is to keep an eye on the various signals that Illustrator provides, particularly those relating the appearance of the cursor. Thus, for example, if you are trying to resize a rectangle, you can only do so when the cursor changes to a diagonal line with an arrow at both ends (indicating that your cursor is in the correct position).

When manipulating objects, Illustrator newbies will often forget to first highlight the Selection tool. For example, they will draw a shape with, say, the Line tool and then, while the Line tool is still highlighted, they will attempt to move or resize the line they have just drawn or perhaps click on the page to deselect the line. They are then bemused and cross when little lines keep appearing on the page or Illustrator's shape dimension window keeps on popping up.

If your effort to create a drawing has gone horribly wrong, the best thing to do is to bite the bullet and choose Revert from the File menu. This is a way of saying "OK, this isn't working. I give up!" The Revert command discards all of the changes you have made to the document since it was last saved and can be another useful way of avoiding unnecessary frustration. - 30828

Aclimatizing Yourself To The Adobe Illustrator Environment

By Bethany Wilson

Adobe Illustrator is 2D vector-based drawing program which has three primary functions. Firstly, it can be used to create graphics for print, such as logos, illustrations and diagrams. Secondly, it can help you build web graphics: buttons, icons; even entire web page designs. As well as drawing, Illustrator can also become a desktop publishing environment where you can create single page layouts such as posters, fliers, book jackets, DVD CD covers, etc.

When running Illustrator training courses, we have noticed that a lot of delegates have had difficulties in getting into the program and finding applications for it. People will say things like: "It's been on machine for ages. I've just never got around to using it." To a lot of people, it seems far less exciting than Photoshop and far less useful than QuarkXPress or InDesign. Many of these people seem to be suffering from "Blank Canvas Syndrome": you create a new file and there is this blank page just sitting there with nothing on it. It's up to you to create everything yourself. At least, with Photoshop you can build your artwork using photos as your raw material.

As Illustrator trainers, we take on board the fact that running an Illustrator training course involves more than just tuition of the use to tools and techniques. To get delegates feeling enthusiastic about using the program, we also need to rid them of their fear of the stark blank canvas facing them every time they create a new file. We have identified four main techniques for ridding new users of "Blank Canvas Syndrome". Firstly, it is important to clearly identify the type of artwork you want Illustrator to create for you. Secondly, use Illustrator's Live Trace facility to create vector elements which can become a starting point for your own artwork. Thirdly, use background images as guides as you create your own drawings. And, fourthly, copy, reuse and modify elements that already exist within your own drawings.

Getting started with Illustrator becomes a lot easier once you have a clear idea of what type of artwork you need to produce. When often run courses for companies who will be using Illustrator in a very specific way, such as fashion companies, architects or cartographers. This type of training tends to be very successful because it's just a case of showing people which tools and techniques they need to use to create the necessary output.

For users who are using the software in a less clear-cut and focused way, we always try to point out on our Adobe Illustrator training courses that you don't have to start with a blank canvas. We always recommend that wherever possible you import relevant graphic material such as scanned images, keep them on a background layer and use various Illustrator tools and techniques to either trace the images or simply to use them as guides and points of reference as you are creating your own original artwork.

Adobe once owned a program called Streamline which was a utility for converting bitmapped images into vectors. Though they have now discontinued it, Streamline lives on in the guise of Illustrator's Live Trace function. This allows you to convert bitmaps imported into Illustrator into vectors, either by choosing one of the preset settings or by creating a custom set of parameters. The program is very fast, so it is easy to experiment with several different settings to see what gives the best results. Once you have got your vectorised version of the artwork, you spend a bit of time cleaning it up and it's good to go.

Scanned or other images can also be placed on a background layer and used to provide constant points of reference when originating new Illustrator artwork. Background images can help to ensure that elements within the Illustrator artwork you create are of the correct dimensions have the correct relative proportions and so forth. For example, if you are drawing human figures, placing a photo of some people on a background layer can help to ensure that you don't end up creating figures with disproportionately large heads or long arms.

Another trick we always point out to delegates attending our Illustrator training courses is the ease with which you can create elements which are variations on existing elements within your drawing. Illustrator has powerful techniques for creating transformed copies of an object. It also allows you to place multiple strokes and fills on an object and to apply effects to each of them. Thus, for example if you need to create four concentric circles, you can just create one circle and give it four strokes, using the Offset Path command to position each of them.

The fact of the matter is that "Blank Canvas Syndrome" will just disappear once you formulate a clear idea of what you achieve learn to avoid creating all your elements from scratch. Start using the Live Trace facility to generate useable vector artwork. Use background images as guides to help you draw your own artwork and, wherever possible, reuse and modify elements that you have already created. - 30828

Save Time Using Custom 3d Models For 3d Face Modeling

By Emily Evans

Face 3d modeling is done using stock or custom 3d models that are created with smooth meshes and a lot of details. They can also be done using high end capturing devices and software to get a model that is then further processed using 3d modeling software. Here we discuss the first approach.

You can cut down time and production costs if you purchase a 3d model from a 3d marketplace to use in your face 3d modeling and animation. Using a ready made 3d model will help you a lot during your face 3d modeling process. However, remember that when you use one that has already been made, you will have to add your own features and you will have to change it so it can be unique.

To start, lets look at the convenience of using this approach to start this highly specialized process. Custom 3d models allow for an easier way to get the right proportions for the 3d face model and also everything else that is needed to get what you need from your face 3d modeling project or for your clients.

There are many advantages when you decide to use a customized 3d model especially when you start the face 3d modeling process. Essentially, by taking this step you can get the realistic location of the eyes, eyebrows, face, mouth and other proportions.

Let's me illustrate this with an example. When you need the licensing rights for a character, you will most likely need custom 3d models of characters. You can opt for getting a high quality one that is already made that is also highly realistic and may even include the necessary rigging or facial movements.

Keep in mind that to use this 3d face model character or change anything on it, you will need specialized rendering and 3d modeling skills in the course of the face 3d modeling in order for you to simply mesh it again, built it altogether or even display it so that it can be seen like a human face. The point is that regardless whether you start off with a stock or a custom 3d model, the reality is that a stock 3d model is not exclusive so you need to change it to suit your needs or the need to have an original face that nobody else is using in their projects.

In addition, most face 3d modeling almost always involves further processing particularly when adding facial expressions such as happiness, anger, sadness, thoughtfulness, shyness, etc. In other words, you will regularly find that most custom 3d models of the body need some or lots of additional manipulation to meet your clients needs including; accurate facial expressions, body motions, rigging, low polygon version for game engines and virtual worlds, scene setup, post production like adding the audio and so on.

There are several methods you may use to create custom 3d models of human faces. If you are not an expert 3d modeler then it is best to get the services of one that specializes in this area. If you are familiar with the 3d process, try to get a starting model which will have the basic outline of the face, without all of the details. This starting model can be referenced from a photo, video, clay, drawing or even a stock 3d model. Face 3d modeling involves using the outline to build and modify the face so that it includes all the necessary details.

Facial expressions are achieved with the movements of the face muscles, such as the movement of the cheeks, nostrils, eyelids, upper and lower lips and also with small changes in the creases and wrinkles of the human face. These details that are added by the 3d modeler as visual cues are what convert a lifeless face into a human like face. Then, the 3d artist can use this custom 3d model and distill it to effectively create a look that is very realistic, saving time and money during the 3d face modeling process.

For instance, as you go through the face 3d modeling process, you can expedite the process by capturing the human face using video. Then, you would use the location of the eye corners, nose tip and mouth corners together with specialized face recognition software to generate a highly realistic looking 3d face model. Then, you would use this output as the kick off point of your face 3d modeling and then you would add a range of poses, facial expressions and even additional features like audio and talking ability.

Therefore, to realize that highly realistic look for any part of the human body, especially the face, it is best to get face 3d modeling services to manipulate custom 3d models until the face achieves the desired look. - 30828

Rapid PowerPoint Presentations Based On Your Photos

By Dwight Davidson

PowerPoint presentations are a superb tool for getting a message across to an audience, to potential clients and to your own company and images are great for adding impact to a PowerPoint presentation. So much so that PowerPoint includes a feature that lets you automatically create a complete presentation from a group of images.

This technique works best where the images are closely related to the core theme of the presentation, for example, if you are introducing a new product range and you have just loaded a bunch of product images onto your computer.

Creating a presentation in this way makes use of a PowerPoint feature called Photo Album. To access this feature, click on New in the File menu. Next, in the New Presentation task pane which appears on the right of your screen, click on Photo Album.

Clicking on the Photo Album option displays a window in which you begin by choosing the images required for your presentation. Just click on the button labelled File/Disk and select the images. Alternatively, click on Camera/Scanner and load the images directly from your scanner or digital camera.

The Photo Album window is very versatile. Once, you have imported your pictures, it allows you to reorder them by selecting and image and clicking on the up and down arrows. If you change your mind and decide to delete an image, no problem. Just click on the name of the image then click the Remove button.

Is the orientation of any of our images not quite right for this presentation? No problem. Just highlight the image then click on the rotate icon to change it. Not happy with the tonal qualities of an image? No problem. Click on the appropriate button to increase or decrease the contrast or brightness levels.

Not many presentations will consist solely of images. So the next step will be to specify the layout of text and images. The Picture Layout drop-down menu lets you choose one, two or four images per slide either with or without a title and a separate check-box lets you specify whether the title will be displayed below the image or above it.

There is also an option to change what is referred to as the Frame Shape. The default is rectangle. However, the Frame Shape drop-down menu will also let you choose rounded rectangle, bevelled, oval, corner tabs, square tabs or plaque tabs.

Finally, click OK to create the presentation. To finish it off, you just need to click in the title box of each slide and add your text. And that's it, a bona fide PowerPoint presentation automatically created from a bunch of images! - 30828

Remove Truck Stickers With Simple Supplies

By Nathan D. Clark

I have just bought a used truck from a friend of mine. It is not the prettiest thing because I must remove truck stickers that he went bonkers over. I would prefer my vehicle not having any of those advertisements on it. So, I plan to take care of them this weekend. I do not think it will be too difficult.

The sun is your enemy here. Because the heat of the sun can bake on all kinds of different adhesives, bumper stickers usually seem to become permanent. But, I have seen with even some of the worst cases, that you can beat this nemesis.

I need to take into consideration that the sun will also cause trouble for me. The sun gets hot and will "cook" any kinds of glues right into the finish of cars. Some stickers can be really stubborn and very difficult to remove. I just need to take my time and do the job correctly.

My fingernails can be used as an excellent tool when it comes to scraping off that gooey gunk. I use the heat from the drier on the sticker and then I scrape. I am not worried about being a hand model so, doing this chore will not bother me. I heat and scrape. Heat and scrape. This works well because I will not make the paint so hot so that it will come off.

I also love using a plastic putty knife. Yes, I know that may be silly to some people. But, it actually works quite well. Scraping can make your nails sore. Especially if you have to get off many stickers as I do. This gives my nails a break and will not scratch my truck. Of course, I must take care not to push too hard because plastic can also damage.

Pulling the little banners off at an angle of ninety degrees is essential. This is not something you need to do in a hurry. It is imperative that you take time to do this right. Use the drier to keep heating segments a bit at a time and remove what you can pull off. Duplicate the procedure until all is gone.

Get a spray bottle, then take equal parts water and alcohol and pour them inside. Take this solution and spray it on the glue that was left behind on the truck. You may want to leave it on for a couple minutes. Use your finger to "roll" off the remnants. You might have to do this several times. But, with persistence you will overcome.

Once I got off all that I could, I took some wax (yes, wax that is used for cars) and polished the areas which had the residue. It really helped and I am proud of the work I have done. Especially having the patience to finish the job. - 30828

Tips To Remove Truck Stickers

By Will Rogen

If you have ever tried and tried to remove truck stickers and they still wont budge then you obviously are not doing it the right way. Or maybe there is no right way to do it. There are simple ways and also some hard ways. It all depends on how you do it and what you find that works the best for you.

It is always important that you read all the directions on the adhesive remover and paint thinner before you use them. Most paint thinner will take off the clear coat on your vehicles paint job and some of it (if left on a long time) will start to eat into your paint. I have seen several people that use the paint thinner to remove the residue off the truck.

I have always just peeled the sticker off and used soap and water to get the residue off. This has always took a little elbow grease to get done, but in turn it was worth it. Make sure you do not use a scrubber if you are trying to save the pain job. You should try to use something soft like a terry cloth or a sponge. The water and the soap is usually what does the job more that scrubbing on it.

In order to get this off without harming your paint, you should try to get some adhesive remover. This type of remover can be found at a store where they sell automotive cleaning supplies. The adhesive remover is not usually expensive from most places, but it can be costly depending on where it is bought from.

When people try to remove truck stickers they sometimes make the mistake and end up ruining their paint job because they do not follow a safe procedure. It is important to read up and find as much information as you can about removing the stickers. Whether it be a sticker that is easy to take off or not, you should be careful if you are trying to save the paint that is already one the vehicle.

There is a remedy that I have found which works better than others, this is using a hair dryer. A hair dryer puts out heat and in turn will melt the adhesive and it will make it easier to wipe off or wash off with soap and water. There is a heat gun that is used in a lot of shops and this should not be used because it could catch the sticker on fire or even melt it to your paint.

Never get the blow dryer close to the sticker because it could also cause it to melt. If you are unsure of how close to get it then you should not try it out because you could end up messing up your paint job.

No matter what stickers you put on your vehicle, make sure it is something you want, that is places where you want it placed, this will keep your paint safe and in turn it wont be so hard to take them off in case you ever want to. - 30828
